KIWANIS CLUB OF KEYPORT, INC.

Information for the Prospective Member

 

Where, When We Meet

* Town & Country Inn, Route 35 & Broadway, Keyport, NJ 07735

* 6:30 PM every Tuesday of the year.

 

What We Do At Meetings

* All meetings start promptly at 6:30 PM with Invocation, Pledge Of Allegiance, Patriotic Song.

* Introduction of guests, program, communications, business.

* Dinner served during the evening, close of meeting by 8:00 PM.

 

How Much It Will Cost You

* A one time induction charge of $40.00.

* $45.00 per month, which covers your meals and all Local, District, and International Dues.

* Attendance of any conventions, division or district functions, raffles, etc. are additional.

 

How You Would Be Inducted

* After you and your membership application are presented by your Kiwanis sponsor to the membership committee, the application is then reviewed and presented to the club to take action.

* The President or Lieutenant Governor will present you with your membership plaque and a membership pin. The pin  is to be worn at all meetings and Kiwanis related functions. There is a $1 fine if you fail to wear your pin at Kiwanis functions.

 

What We Expect Of You As A Member

* Regular attendance at our club meetings.

* Commitment of your time and support for our many projects during the year.

* Personal sponsorship of at least one (1) new member each year.

* Acceptance of full responsibility of any committee assignments or office for which you’ve been elected.

* An opportunity for you to share your experience, knowledge, time, and love in service to your community and fellow citizens.

* The prestige of Kiwanis membership.

* Fun, fellowship, and evidence of true friendship each time we meet.

 

What Counts As Attendance

* Primarily, attendance at our regular club meetings

* Secondarily, attendance at a meeting of any of the 8000+ Kiwanis clubs worldwide, attendance at a regular meeting of our Board of Directors, Sponsored Youth meeting, and assisting in our projects.

 

How Our Club Serves The Keyport Area

* The Kiwanis Club performs service beyond the capability of the individual: assistance to youth, to the needy, improvement of the community, and encouragement of international understanding.

* Keyport Kiwanis sponsors Key Clubs at Keyport High School, Keansburg High School, Henry Hudson High School in Highlands and M.A.S.T at Fort Hancock as well as Scholarships at Brookdale Community College.

* Major Emphasis Programs: “Young Children-Priority One”

 What We Hope You Will Do

* Attend one of our meetings as a guest of the Kiwanis Club of Keyport.

* Say YES when we invite you to become a member.
